Like a SE rep to comment on this, ISP is blaming YOU for extra routing.

I just got this email, the ISP is named wide open west, WoW for short.

Neither of these issues are something that we can assist with altering (or even see which hypothetical is the problem), nor are they issues that you should expect compensation from us for as they are not issues with our service.

I live in Chicago, is in the main city, and it is a NTT hub:

For some reason instead of using Chicago (something a VPN has no issues of doing) My ISP routes my data out east though their networks to New York the hands it to NTT there. Is there a clear reason for this?

The extra routing makes the game border line unplayable (well rather annoying) as lag hits happen at a common place along with slow loading menus. I need a VPN for it.
