4.1 Adventurer Squadron Updates

I wanted to expess my self in a more polite manner and from all posts the one that was most valueable was wait and see how it will work!
Also Its not in my style to rage so that rage(I even said it myself) was a stupid move! :)

4.1 has a lot of fantastic content.Even if that is not for me there is still a lot to enjoy!

I don't think they're deleting the ability to do dungeons with other people. We can already do old ones undersized by ourselves already and it certainly doesn't seem to stop everyone rushing into Tam-Tara every single day.

It's similar to the NPC system in FFXI, which certainly didn't stop me grabbing some living, breathing friends for non-boring activities. Do chocobo companions ruin the game?

Personally I'm looking forward to dressing my squadron up and making them do my bidding.

I have a solution to your woes. Don't do squadrons. The community will still be here I promise. Also is giving people an option to solo content so wrong? Goodness forbid these poor dps that have to wait 30+ minutes get a change to queue for stuff at a decent time.

"Nice. All those unsynced dungeons I solo can go slightly faster now because AI will be stabbing monsters in the butt, too. Neat." It could make minion hunting far less painful, too.

Don't worry over it too much. I doubt the AI would be better than most players, even the really bad ones. People had been requesting to take squadrons into dungeons with them since they had been introduced.

Few thoughts about using NPC groups in dungeons:

1. Some games don't force group dungeoning, but it also depends on the dungeon's difficulty. This game is taking a step in that direction now.
2. DPS queue complaining will be a thing of the past. This in turn may actually cause DPS Adventurer in Needs to appear in Leveling Roulette among others.
3. This actually coincides with both Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy Explorers. The former you could get and level multiple NPCs to fight alongside you, and the latter you could take up to 3 monsters into missions with you and level too in place of co-op players. When you think about it, this update fits the theme of the new raid coming...

I know some people will think this is a step in making this game more solo-friendly but is that really a bad thing? The MMO aspect simply means you need internet and others are around whether you like it or not. Doesn't mean you have to interact if you don't want to.

Aside from what others have already said, it's also a much needed improvement to the Squadron system. It will no longer be just something you interact with once every 18 hours just for some "rewards". Being able to glam them is just the icing on the cake.

So instead of trying to find a solution to DPS queue times we add the most easy of ways to deal with the issue that all MMORPG's have( Because always DPSs are more than Tanks) and call the day ?
I mean if people can start doing Dungeons with their private army today,why they will not start bringing them to the world or even to the raids to fullfil missing spots?
I mean its better to have a bot than missing an player and dont do the raid right ?

Well iirc in the live letter not every dungeon will be available for squadrons and 61 to 70 won't be playable at all. Plus trials and raids exist. So I don't really see the issue. It'll help dps queue times somewhat I imagine and since not every dungeon is available people will still have to queue for some.

BTW this mechanic has been planned since squadrons were released so it should've been expected.

Dungeons huh all I am thinking about is if we can do potd with them eventually would solve that solo content issue right there.

Well, my thoughts:

1) I really don't mind. I hight doubt these Squadrom members will be on par with actual players, and I highly doubt you'll be able to complete the latest (expert) dungeons with them.
2) They don't work for trials and raids.
3) If it's for low level dungeons, then I don't see the issue.
4) If this game taught me something with the last job quests, is that the NPC's AI seem to be sometimes better for mechanics than actual players. >.>

The system may as well hold a separate reward pool for those using this feature. Until then, and probably until the upcoming Live Letter, we can only speculate how this feature may (or may not) steal the "Multiplayer" perk of this game.
