Freezing between Data Center and Character Select

My new rig appears to be having an issue where the game will simply freeze right after (or perhaps in the process of) connecting to the Data Center (I'm on Cactuar, which I believe is on Aether Data Center). It doesn't give any error messages or anything - just locks up with the title screen mostly faded from view, and the audio still playing. Only way to drop out of it is to kill it using Task Manager.

I should note this is a brand new PC Build. Here's my specs:
AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X
128GB DDR4 2666
Dual Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti Graphics Cards in SLI
Windows 10 Pro
OS is installed on a 512GB Samsung 960 Pro NVMe SSD
FFXIV is installed on a 10TB Seagate IronWolf HDD

I only wish I knew. I'm willing to bet anything they just have crap support for AMD CPUs... or crap support for absurd amounts of RAM. Either way, we're not seeing a response yet. The benchmark runs fairly well - I get around 12,000 running 4K Max... but the game itself not starting at all is a dealbreaker.

I am guessing CPU too. As I only have a GTX 1080 and 32GB but have the 1950x CPU. I shutoff nVidia Optimization and lowered to the lowest video settings just to test, even tried in DirectX 9.0. Same issue. Lets you pic Data Center... tries logging into data center and freezes at character Login/Creation Screen every single time.

I have found a solution, but it is not something one should ever have to do. This game simply cannot work with so many processing cores. So, once the game starts, and before moving to character select, pull up Task Manager, go to the "Details" tab, right-click on the game, and select "Set Affinity" It'll show 32 CPUs. Select 4, or possibly 8 of them.
I suspect users of top-end Intel i9 CPUs will be having similar problems. The game is not coded to run properly on high-core/thread-count CPUs.
Note to Square-Enix: THIS IS NOT A FIX. IT IS A WORKAROUND FOR YOUR SLOPPY CODE. FIX IT.

Yep I selected 8 cores and it runs now. No more freezing going to Character Select

Okay I was able to select the First 16 Cores and it launched again. That's encouraging.

Turn off whatever equivalent AMD has to hyperthreading and run with the 16 real cores. Do so in your BIOS and things should be a bit faster than just setting affinity to virtual cores.

It's not really sloppy code per say, as very few games are even built for 16 cores as it's not necessary nor is it mainstream.
