I will change to the Mac Version starting next month. As far as I know, I have to buy additional mac licences but that's not the issue.
1. Can I login with the same Steam windows version Character?
2. Do I have to buy the Steam Mac version because of Steam or can I just buy the retail Mac Version from the Square Enix Online Shop?
1. Yes you login with your already existing account details and you'll carry on playing with your existing account/subscription. Do not create a new account. Unfortunately though your hotbars and gearsets are stored on your PC, not on the server, so you'll have to set those back up again.
2. There is no Steam Mac version, it's only PC that has a Steam and non-Steam version :)
