Questions regarding gear drops

Ok so I'm currently on a fashion hunt and as per usual I let my party know so we open every chest we find. However one run I was informed that gear sets only drop from boss chests. I'm a little iffy on this since I'm pretty sure I got a pair of gloves from a non boss chest so I came here to clarify.

TLDR. do left side gear items drop from non boss chests?

Depends on the dungeon. In some dungeons they do, in some they don't. And even if they do drop it is usually only from some of the non-boss chests.

lodestone is your friend You can check the contents of any chest in the dungeons by clicking on the dungeon you want to see the loot for and then selecting the particular chest you want to know about.
