Faking disconnects
You all know the people that, when a duty takes longer than expected, will fake disconnects.
Of course we cannot tell if the dc is fake or not, so SE cannot do anything on it but we, as the ones left in the duty, we still have an option: wait.
Yes, it will waste our time, but not so much, and when the dc player returns, remember to greet him/her with a warm "welcome back" to the duty they tried to skip.
Reactions there are priceless.

I do this all the time, specially in leveling roulette! :D
Even if they take a long while to come back - stuff's easily clearable with one missing member (I'm more than willing to spend more time in there than kicking someone who is possibly faking the DC), and waiting nets you two benefits:
-A grateful team and team member, if it was an actual DC
-A peeved fake dc'er who will be stuck either being an asshole to force a kick (which I can report as opposed to a DC, yay!), afking in the dungeon, leaving themselves as they should have in the first place or actually doing their damn job.
The warm "welcome back! :) " is, of course, mandatory!

I'll be honest I do this all the re lol just wait for them to come back I've sat at the final boss waiting for them to pop back and I've even had it where they took a half hour to come back and I'm like yup were still here dude was pissed lmao then i asked why wait this long you could have just ate the penalty

I remember a vault run where two former FC mates and I met an really bad healer. He complained that he is tired of this dungeon because he tried to clear this first time for hours and only has bad teams..seeing how bad he healed and how long he was doing it, it was pretty clear that he blamed the others for his shortcomings..well the unavoidable thing happened and we wiped at the last boss even after trying to get hit as less as possible..but he was just so bad. He raged and wanted us to kick him but we just said no and that he could just leave the instance if he wanted. He disconnected and we sat there on the boss, having quite the fun and waiting for him to come back. His reaction was priceless and he logged out again. After his second log in, he left the dungeon on his own and we got another healer and beat the boss on first try..
Thankfully this was possible because the rest knew each other so he did not get his wish. There is an option to leave a dungeon and if its so horrible then one could wait 30 minutes as a penalty..

I applaud the patience of all of you. I can only hope to have such restraint when it comes to diva-types (more than likely one of these self-identified professional raiders) who think they're too good for "commoners" who aren't in the top 5% raid statics.
...
Sorry about that rant getting loose.

Depending on the job of the person that gets dc'd,let and the party I'm, in I try to get everyone to give whoever dc'd Atleast 5 minutes to get back. If they arnt back in 5 - 10 though I'll generally be OK with kicking them.

Good luck waiting me while i play overwatch <3 (but i dun think i would ever do a fake disconnect anyway XDD)

I did something like this to a botter waaaaaaaaaaaaaay long ago. Player was AFK botting a tank in the original Wanderers Palace and I got stuck with him a couple times due to it being late night DF runs. At first I though he was just a jerk, he would run all the way to the room before the first boss to open the chest that could contain the weapon piece needed to make the original relic weapon I think. He would then need roll on it, die and respawn and just stand at zone in. Assuming to make someone else eat the penalty for leaving so he could do it again (this was before the kick feature was put in. After the third time it was clear he was botting. So when the other two left the party I stayed the full duration of the dungeon to keep him put. The next party I did the same thing again to him. Both times I just tabbed out and loaded a different game. Figured I'd cut into his profits and save other players the grief from him lol.
As for disconnects, my patience is eternal. I can wait as long as needed.

I love people that wait when I get a random 90k. Makes me grumpy when I stress out trying to log back in and I see that I got kicked before even 3 minutes :(

*Person DC*
Me: I'm just going to wait for them
*They return*
Me: Ah, welcome ba-
*They instantly DC again*
That's how I generally remember it going. That being given it was in vale which people despise it for some reason.
