Constant lag spikes since patch 4.06a.
I play from Europe on NA servers, this hasn't been a problem for me thus far. The only problem I've had is one that has been widespread effecting many players, this was about a few weeks after SB launched. People reported getting 90002 errors when doing any action that'd require a response from the servers. I remember being able to go AFK in game and stay connected for hours, but the moment I tried to do things like quests dungeons; a 90002 error was immanent. This was resolved rather quickly though, as it was effecting a large part of the player base.
Fast-forward about 2~3 months and I have gone through a large part of the HW story and finished SB story without any issues. I proceeded to collect at least il310 gear for the current jobs I'm playing and unlocked Omega and the 2 new EX Primals.
Then patch 4.06a hits and my connection goes down hill; I'm getting constant lag spikes throughout the day, which are especially noticeable in dungeon/trial instances. Suffice to say, I cannot reliably practice Omega/Ex Primals with this current connection issue as I'm literally seeing the world stop for about 2 seconds and occasionally 5~10 seconds then everything goes fast-forward multiple times in the space of a few minutes. I have tried the usual things anyone would try to fix it on my end, but the issues persists.
I'll list some details below that might help resolve this issue.
Character: Riko Futatabi
Server: Excalibur
Platform: PC
Location: Europe, UK.
ISP: Sky
Type of Internet Connection: Fibre Optic.
Internet Connection Speed: Around 30Mbit/s.
It's been weeks since this patch messed up my connection to the game.
This is still an on-going issue. I have phoned my ISP and SE Customer Service and went through all the advice they gave me about forwarding ports and disabling UPnP in the XIV config. I've properly done all of this and there is no change! I am still experiencing characters "rubber-banding" and I'm getting really tired of not being able to do any endgame content. :(
I believe the issue lies in the route my connection is taking to the NA Servers. I've done many trace route checks and noticed my connection getting timed out on some nodes. Honestly, I have no idea if I can resolve this myself, I feel I've done all I can to make sure my connection is stable but it's been all for naught.
