Market ward shortfall

Just thought I would make a suggestion I was thinking about( and posted here for hopes of better visibility and traffic)

I love the work they have done on the Wards so far and it item search function works great. I would like to see it go a little further and make it more friendly for those who are selling.

My idea is to be able to bring up current sales and prices for a specific item when navigating your retainers inventory. Adding another option to the pop-up menu to check current prices on the wards for that item so I can set my price right there.

I'm sure I am not the only one that uses my retainer as extra storage and when I want to clear it out it is very frustrating to have to remember what I have, or take it with me to the search window, search for each item for the going price and then run back to my retainer and put it up for sale.

SE, Please make the market wards friendly for selling, as well as buying(as you have already done)

That would be really cool. I'd also like to be able to see what's in my retainer's inventory no matter where I am. Almost like how we could see what was in our moghouse in ffxi without having to run back and check.

I would like the stats of whatever equip/weapons I'm browsing to be compared to what I have equipped. I'd also like it to show the actual items stats. Like if the particular one I'm looking at has materia attatched to it.

There's a lot still wrong with the wards. It's still a pain in the ass to sell anything that's expensive due to the 20 cheapest rule. And not being able to see the materia on items without entering the wards is a huge annoying. Having to re-zone every time you buy something from the counter is retarded too, it even takes away the menu item you were looking at. So slow to buy multiples.

You dont have to rezone when buying from counter, its just lagged and takes about 10-15 seconds to reload...(this does however need to be fixed)


also the 20 cheapest rule doesnt matter...lets face facts, if your not the cheapest your not the next to sell anyway

HOWEVER if this is in reference to hq gear, what they need is the ability to search for hq gear, not make it so you can see more then 20

Agreed there are alot wrong with the market wards but they are making strives and i don't think the majority will be fixed until 2.0(due to system issues lol) It sounds like to big of an overhaul to do with the current engine(hence 2.0) The more of these things they can do for the time being the better.

HQ searching is a biggie and hopefully they can do something about it with the current client. Even if it's a separate search. There must be something they can do to separate them into another list and then use that list to search on.

They have said the wards will be changing completely in 2.0 I hope they are taking every suggestion, criticism and comment into account when they create what ever it will be in 2.0.

It seems like it re-zones because all the characters disappear and reload, and the menu reloads and sets it to the default.

HQs are trash. It's in reference to trying to sell gear with materia in it. I'm not going to sell a double materia pair of gloves at the same price as trash just so it's one of the 20 cheapest.

no one expects you to sell it for that low, and its foolish to think your expected to

Very nice thread, I agree! Some people have short term memory and can't remember how much gil to sell an item for by the time they travel back to their retainer :P

I fall victim to the memory some times. But I am more concerned with time, if I have 20 things to sell, and I don't know the price of any of them. i need to run back and forth, or write them down so I can get all my prices and then do all my selling.

Checking prices for items you're carrying and even ones the retainer isn't carrying, why not? The retainers are right there to check. Moving a retainer into another ward, why not? Retainer checks and buys stuff for you, via your commands, anywhere in the world? Why not. Yoshi wants this type of functionality for smart phones right? Should be in the game. I'd even go so far as to question why can't we send items to retainers from anywhere in the world, but baby steps and all that (also watch someone come in and say it would be broken because of RMT. Brilliant, punish legit consumers because of illegal activities by other people.)

This is the type of thing I expected when I first hired a retainer and saw the retainer list/NPC linkpearl nonsense. Baffling how limited and cumbersome the retainers are.

Sorry for going off a bit there OP, I genuinely like your idea (and want it implemented into the above scenario) because I have a terrible memory and sometimes need to check prices of what I want to sell 3 or more times. Having it displayed while browsing over the item in my retainer's inventory would be amazing.
