New Race Fairy

I just stumbeled upon this charakter from Bravely Default a game from Square Enix which is a fairy and it would be a really nice idea for a new race.:)

Please no, even more dainty races is the last thing FFXIV needs.

And the way you're envisioning this Faerie race is practically impossible to do.

while perhaps not a fairy per se, the game could use a tiny race as we only have Lala. It would be nice variation than the usual tall, lean races

Why awkward for SCH? A big fairy which can summon a little fairy would be awesome :D

Yeah, for all intents and purposes that literally looks like Bravely Default's version of Eos. The hair is even the same and the outfit is cut very close, minus the embellishments.

Frankly speaking after the mess that was the Aura introduction from a lore standpoint, and the fact that we very nearly got 'MOE' Viera as well, I'd rather they not introduce any more races simply because it might be cool. If it works in lore, cool. But with the current lore it simply wouldn't make sense. Also SE already has a bitch of a time not letting their hairstyles clip with the overly complicated armor. Can you IMAGINE having to take animated wings into account?

you know its meant as a race so Hair face and everything is rather an example as an actual character for the game since it's customizeable...

I'm aware, that doesn't change the fact that Airy there (that's what the wikia says her name is) is basically Eos 2.0. Nor does it change the fact that there's no justifiable reason in lore for them to exist as an independent race and more importantly that there would be a WORLD of clipping issues from the wings alone. SE still can't keep their longer hair styles from clipping into everything, just imagining wings and potentially animated ones at that brings a whole new list of issues given their current track record.

It's a nice idea, but I just can't see it working.

Well you say its not justifyable with any lore what exists well it would if it comes out anyways probarly come with a new add on meaning it can have a lore with a new add on...

If you play the SCH quests you see that they're very much tied in with the soulstones they are bound to, with no other manifestations of faeries every being seen in the game save those that are bound to a SCH. There could come lore down the road that separates them and allows us to see where they come from but right now they only exist as sentient partners of sorts that's bound and conjurered by aether. Ones who don't seem unwilling in their servitude either. We're not even entirely sure if they aren't just another variation of the carbuncle or a subset of elemental. (Which would bork all kinds of lore and sense if they were the latter and they tried to make them a playable race.)
