come on
these glamour restrictions are so stupid and nonsensical.
I just checked to see if healers had a head piece similar to the Marid Leather Hood of Striking/Scouting and of course we dont...
I'm sure some of you are gonna say "i like my jobs to look different so im ok with this" like come one. There's a hundred edna's running around. And a thousand scythes. People dressed as chocobos. Like it makes no sense to keep these restrictions in place any more. Emersion is out of the window when it comes to glamours. Just look around. And clearly we dont care about making sure new people aren't confused bc, again, look around.
I just want a Marid Leather Hood of Striking/Scouting for healers.

Trust me. You're not the only one. There have been countless other threads depicting how they can't have "X" gear glamoured with "Y" job. And I'm fine with them lifting restrictions on glamoured items, but there's a chance it might not happen anytime soon. If/When it does, a majority of the community will be happy while others will be indifferent.

Meanwhile Scion casters run around in partial plate. It's also hilarious how most sword swinging bandits in low levels sports caster robes just to rub it in.

I agree, there are some pieces that I feel would go well with other roles. Stuff like striking left side on DRG etc..
The only thing I don't agree with is AF gear.. Everything else, yep I am for it.

Tell them to lift gender restrictions while they are at it. There's cool "guy only" outfits I'd love to wear but can't. Like one of the samurai outfits from the Golden saucer. The female one is ugly, but the make one is awesome. And I can't wear it =(

It bugs me to no end that as a summoner I cannot wear a short skirt or bright, cheery clothing as none really exist.
All the caster gear is designed for blackmage in mind (everything seems to be a long, black cowl) and doesn't really match the traditional aesthetic of summoner or redmage. I don't mind gear affecting stats to be locked to a certain role or job as that makes sense for it to be. But glamour should be free range among all items disregarding the original class requirements.

Welcome to the club OP. I too have a dream of unrestricted glam. Sigh

Silly, all healer hoods have to have annoying red dangling gemstones between our eyes or glowing panels! Otherwise people might mistake us for assassins rather than healers.
100% agree, glamour restrictions are dumb and ruin fun. I've said it several times before but I support removing all class locks for glamour so long as you have earned the right to wear the item on another job; the whole point of the game is that we're one character with multiple jobs. Let us pick up an axe and start cleaving things then pull out a frying pan and cook a meal, without also having to pop into a changing room and change everything from our socks to our hats first. It's nonsense in terms of lore, it adds nothing to gameplay now we can all be pigs, ghosts and bikini models as any job, and it's simply not fun.
