L2 PS4 controller issue
Using the L2 trigger to try to access my hotbars causes my character to move to the left on the screen. I have checked to make sure I do not have that set as auto run and have tried to resynched my controller to my PS4 and I am still having this issue. This issue started to appear after a recent patch. I am not sure if it's a PlayStation thing or a FFXIV issue but it's very annoying on a caster specifically because it would interrupt my cast.

It is not always a consistent issue. Sometimes it starts walking on it's own and sometimes it works normal. After making the character stop walking it works as normal but after a while starts doing it again on and off.

I've not experienced any issue like this before, sounds a little strange but definitely annoying. Could it be something wrong with the controller, do you have another that you could try using?
-
I do not. I mean it would be quite a thing to go buy a controller to see if it does the same thing. And it doesn't happen on any other game. It only happens for FFXIV. I have heard of others experiencing the same issue.

seems this is a common issue with the v2 controllers, (the ones with the light through the touchpad), only solution i've found is a new joypad
-
Ooooooh That doesn't sound good. lol I don't like the solution of have to buy a new controller in order to fix it ;_; How do I know what's a v2 controller?
-
It's not just the v2 controllers one of mine started to do it also.

If you don't have or unable to acquire another controller, have you considered maybe switching the hotbar buttons L2 and R2 with L1 and R1 instead? Should you barely use Auto Run then it might work, but could take a little getting used to the buttons being in a slightly different place to press.

Still experiencing this issue. Still very random on when it does this.

Its 100% the controller, when I used to play on the PS4 I used to suffer from this when I used one of my two controllers (I would cycle them when I needed to charge them) I ended up just using the controller that never experience the problem. I forgot about it one day and used the funky controller and lo and behold, that annoying problem was there. Time to buy a new controller.
