Is Warrior the weakest of the tanks?

So my current main is SAM, but my main all throughout HW and ARR was WAR. I loved how WAR could dish out some mean DPS while also being able to stay alive thanks to a fair amount of cooldowns, IB, etc.

Now that I have my SAM at 70 and in a good place for gear, I want to get back into tanking as my alt.

I keep going back and forth of which job I want to play, and I have it between WAR and DRK (tried PLD but I just don't find it fun, imo). I was talking to some buddies yesterday, and they said that WAR is just too weak/squishy and not worth even leveling. Is this true? I have to mess around more with DRK, but I feel squishier on that due to fewer cooldowns.

Is WAR truly weak right now (tank wise, not DPS wise)? Is DRK truly THAT much better because of TBN and the 20% less damage you take in tank stance?

Note: I'm not a hardcore raider. I do my weekly normal raids, daily roulettes, and EX Primals, so that is what I will be tanking in.

I think I read that war is getting some changes in 4.1. But you stated your not a HC raider and that this will be an alt? War is fine then, it still plays as a war with the cooldowns and stance dance. Losing Flash means your going to have to adjust how you pull groups in dungeons but war stayed more or less intacted. The level of content you will be attempting can be done with war and you will still feel like a war.

WAR is fine, DRK, is in a odd spot, not by much. Shake it off is getting changes, though.

War still came out my favorite tank. I like how good it is for solo and being able to apply slashing debuff by itself is helpful for that. Just for dungeons it's fine, and possibly less squishy in those pre-70 content than a drk with no blackest night. Well, all jobs are great outside of hardcore raid content actually. War's lack of raid utility won't matter for roulettes.

Hmmm War isn't weak if people know how to use them properly. IF anything there are people who THINK they can tank that make tanking jobs look bad over all.

WAR is the strongest tank from an offensive standpoint, and is (depending on encounter design and skillful TBN usage) either the strongest tank in terms of personal defence, or shares that spot with DRK.

It's definitely not weak, in any case.

I have all 3 tanks and 70. WAR is perfectly fine for both mitigation and damage when played properly. The key issue that people have with WAR is not damage or mitigation but rather with raid utility (or lack there of).

Personally I hate overpower which is why I don't use WAR on dungeon-related content. But on trials and raid content it is a lot of fun!

Thanks, everyone! Quick question, if I did decide to start doing savage raids and such, will WAR not be useful? Is it solely because of the lack of utility or is it because they are squishier?

War is fine, your friend is too exaggerated. :(
When one say "weakest among three", it doesn't mean WAR is bad tho.

If you play the job right, WAR is far from squishy... ppl say war is bad for raid because we bring no utility but offense/defense power is not weak.

WAR has problems. It's not weak, but it doesn't stand out in any way or offer anything the other tanks don't.
