MIN/BTN Gathering Stats

What is the Gathering required for a retainer to collect 30 of Molybdenum Ore. My miner retainer is currently bringing back 20 at a time 1045 Gathering.

Just trying to get a gage, as whether I should just lightly meld the retainer tools or make a couple pieces of non-gathering gear and meld those.

As far as I know, gathering gear has the best caps for Gathering and Perception (and GP, though Retainers do not bother with that one). You'll want to either make and meld i290 for the retainer, or get the yellow scrip stuff.

I remember this being asked before. I forget what the answer was but the response by the OP was "I don't have that much gathering myself."

Sorry about the confusion I have only equipped +Gathering items on the retainer. Thus, non-gathering gear was a reference to DoL gear that does not have +Gathering as a native stat, not specifically a reference to combat gear.

if you want the best returns I believe your min/bot gathering retainers will need a min of 1150 gathering.

I remember it being a thing, back in the 2.x days, where HQ combat jewelry had higher gathering/perception stat caps than the actual gathering jewelry (which had a higher GP cap). Fishers who knew this used to use the combat jewelry, as they did not care about the GP. Some took that to their retainers as well, who similarly do not care about GP.

That said - get both Gathering and Perception. At some point, you'll max out at 30 in an hour. Then with more Gathering it will go to 30 in 50 minutes. Then it will finally actually max out at 30 in 40 minutes. Perception bumps the rate of HQ mats, which may or may not be an issue.

The 1150 gathering stat listed below is, I think, the point where it reaches 30 in an hour. I do not know whether it is feasible yet to bring the SB, or even HW, venture times down to 50 or 40 minutes.

full HQ 290 only gets you 989 so I guess we are supposed to over meld our retainers now too.

yellow scrip is easy to get too and is unlimited so you could gear your retainers with that and get close too

Yellow Scrip gear doesn't bring it to that stat. The Crafted gear melded on the other hand, does. Close doesn't cut it, it needs to be that stat.
