For those of you complaining about EXP chains while soloing...

And I cite this thread, I must say I have to disagree. Proof:

I was especially concerned about Bayohne's comment that they were looking into making it easier to achieve experience chains while soloing. Seriously, leveling does not need to be easier. Of course this was during a leve with aspect, but it still makes the same point. Leves are designed for solo play, and if I can get a chain 5 soloing a leve with little difficulty, I REALLY don't think the system needs adjustment.

As far as I am concerned, the should not add any "bonuses" to soloing Xp. The bons should go to groups, this is and MMO and I personally believe that solo XP should be at a massive disadvantage.

Chain #5 is probably mostly a THM thing now but chain #4 really isn't that difficult to achieve. Heck, I managed to do it with GLA against mobs two levels above my level.

Still, chain is actually not a huge deal. The true bonus comes from links. It's absurd how much more exp you get from a triple link than you'd get from killing the same mobs unlinked.

Soloing is really tedious in XIV, its almost as bad as XI. Soloing is not a viable option to level, and needs a huge overhaul.

There are times when im soloing, and hope someone invites me to a party, because group play is a million times easier, and faster. Yes, group play should be better, but the gap is too huge. It shouldnt be that way, this game needs to be accessible, and thats an area it needs work in.

I feel bad for players that only have time to solo. SE FIX SOLOING, THIS IS NOT FFXI-2.

I'm currently going at the rate of ~40k/hour soloing company leves. Granted, I have a lot of leve allowanes built up, but they regenerate fast enough to allow people to solo at a decent rate imo. And plus, I'm getting company seals as an added bonus.

This is also an MMO, Soloing should not be as efficient as a group. Soloing is actually fine now because it's not as efficient as party play, solo focused MMO are boring as fuck, this is exactly why people are ready to drop an MMO the second a new one comes out these days, because solo oriented MMOs are just..boring. Yeah you have your instances but MMOs these days are:

Hub City > Solo > Instances > Solo Instances > Hub city > Instances > Solo instances.

Remember when MMOs used to be about grouping up and exping/exploring with each other?

I know, right? Why just the other day I finished up my solo runs of Darkhold, Ifrit, Moogles, roaming NMs and the Beastmen Strongholds and I thought "geez, what good is calling this an MMO if I can just breeze through it alone?"

Not every single aspect of an MMO has to require a full party like XI. XIV doesn't have much emphasis on grinding out levels. Instead, the focus is on actual battles and other such content.

Ah yes, the days when you were forced to play a certain way or be left behind. Those were the days.

Seriously, who wants a game where everyone actually has the option to play the way they enjoy?


Now, back on topic: Before 1.20 I soloed from 33-49 over a period of a couple months or so, which I find acceptable. Not sure how that would work out now. Doing the last level in 1.20, it almost seemed like I was killing things faster, even though I despise the battle system now. So I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I think solo is still fine.

Too bad. The community here have spoken, and they want to being unable to even wipe ones butt without the help of 5 other people. Enjoy devoting more time for less rewards.

Don't you know? No one on this game enjoys seeing new mobs it's just raptors and amalj'aa what else exists? Why solo when waiting around for 3 hours to get a full group gives more exp then soloing? MMO is the best excuse i've seen people use against "MEH NO WAHNT SULU"
