Lore and what is coming next (opinions)

Greetings.

I know that i am a very new player to the game, just lvl 15, FF 14 is a game that i am discovering as i progress through my game time, but i noticed that the game, and forgive me if i am wrong, focus alot around the fights against Primals and i get that, personally i am so looking forward to those fights, my question is do you think that in the future we will go to war against the Garlean Empire or any other more human nemesis?
Maybe they are already in the game and maybe i will face them but what do you think that it will come after Stormblood? You think Stormblood will get more content patches?

Personally i would like to hear if you guys think that FF 14 is a game that could keep going for years to come? I am just asking all these questions because i am very new and i came from WoW so i am discovering a all new game, i am not familiar with the dev team or their projects for the future of the game.

And yes the storyline is constantly being extended with patch storylines, which usually have a subtitle of their own (and their own story arc related to the overall plot).

Incidentally, there is a section of this forum dedicated solely to the game's lore if you're interested in the storyline and discussing it (just be aware that there are LOTS of spoilers there).

The game is my first MMO and I've been playing since January of 2015 with no breaks, it's amazing. I'm happy I play this game and I meet so many wonderful people, the story is amazing and when its not serious stuff theres amazing laughs. And since we're on the same data center I can help you with anything like dungeons and stuff through PF, so if you have any questions I have a discord account if you wish to ask me them. ALso a little warning, after you complete 2.0 patch, 2.1-2.55 is where people start quiting the game. THey complain the MSQs are to much( like over 100 in total) but when I started I done all of them none stop, and I think I did all of them till 2.5 which was the current patch at the time and I didn't have any problems.

Content/storyline patches happen every three to four months, so the next one will probably be in late September or early October. These patches will continue until the next expansion pack which should be roughly two years after Stormblood's release. The conflict with the Garlean Empire is one of the over all story arcs of the game so far, but there are other over arcing storylines and enemies also. We are suppose to go to Garlemald at some point, but Yoshida has stated that will probably not be until 6.0 (Stormblood is patch 4.00), so it is two expansions away. Considering Square supported their previous MMO FFXI for sixteen years before moving in to maintance mode (the XI servers are still online) FFXIV should continue to be around for several more years yet. If you like lore I'd definately check out the lore formus like Enki mentioned once you finish the Main Scenario Questline. Before then you will probably be a bit confused by the topics, not to mention the Lore forums usually only spoiler tag for new storylines for a week or two after their release. Welcome to the game!

Forgive but what's MSQ's?

I really hope the game goes for many years to come honestly. I don't know how huge the community is for FF 14 but i hope it becomes something like WoW.
I came from WoW so it is a big change, i love that game, the lore, the characters but the core of the game itself felt stale over time, i mean since WoD they have made great things to introduce and involve the player character in the story directly but before that it feels like the older content is not relevant, that it is outdated and feels poor.
In FF 14 since i started playing i always see people running around either low or high level players, i feel important and immersed in every single quest that i do, i mean a MMO RPG world should feel alive, relevant and immersive, i can be wrong but i have that feel on FF 14 alot.

I don't know if anyone here has a twitter account and follows some of the game devs or community managers but i would like to follow more of them as of now i only follow one.

MSQ= Main Scenario Quest/Main Story Quest. Quests that tell FFXIV's storyline, which can be identified apart from normal sidequests by a flaming meteor logo instead of the regular speechbubble/'Q' icon. MSQs are how the game's storyline progresses. Main story quests also unlock various content that compliments and adds to the game, like levequests, the inn, mounts, gear dyeing, materia converting, and dungeon and Primal fights, so even if you're not interested in the story, they are still worth doing. :)
