Problem with new MSI gaming laptop, black screen after loading

Hi guys,

I bought a brand new MSI GT72VR 7RE Dominator Pro laptop, thinking it'd be great for playing my favorite games such as FF and Witcher 3 for example. Now all games play fine, except for Final Fantasy.
I tried reinstalling all the drivers, found different drivers for my graphics card, all to no avail. At first it would load the game and crash after about 5 mins with all sorts of colours and the sound hanging.
Then with another driver it would give me a black screen, return to windows and give a direct x 11 error (even though I ran it at directx 9 at the time). Then it would give a black screen, return to windows and return to the game after about 5 seconds, and repeated this constantly.
Then now with again other drivers it just gives me a black screen after showing me the login screen, and me having to turn my laptop off in order to continue.

I have a GTX 1070, i7-7700HQ and 16 gigs of ram.

Any help on this? I'd love to play my favorite game again.
