Gatherable materials have their own logs, whether it's the MIN/BTN gathering log or the fishing log, but every time you need a material not covered by those, you need to tab out and hit up the lodestone or a similar resource to know what drops that material. WHY?
We really need a log with the various skins and other drop materials that tells us which mob drops them (along with it's level) and where it can be found.

I mean, we have http://www.garlandtools.org/db/ but it'd be better if we just had this in game, even if we had to get the drop off of a monster first before we could see it in the log.
As it is right now, you can send a combat retainer for something even if you never got it as a drop. You cannot send a DoL retainer out for something unless you have already gathered it.
I foresee them requiring actually getting the drop before the retainer will collect it, if this log should occur. Personally, I'd rather not have to deal with that additional headache.
