Silly question for controller users

I ran Neverreap for the first time the other night, and I was wondering for the mechanic that requires players to pick up a totem and move it outside the circle , how do you put them down?

I was afraid to do it because while I know how to interact with them and pick them up, I don't know how to put them down, and I didn't want to compromise my ability to act, so I left it to the other players to do.

I ran across this problem the first time when doing ARR side dungeons in Copperbell HM against the spriggy boss that rides the golem. I couldn't figure out how to drop the bombs, so I just kept letting explode while I held them

For controllers, it's easy. Just press the confirmation button (usually X or A, depending how your contoller is set up), and it'll drop it for you right where you stand. xD

Bascially, the same button you used to select and pick it up, is the same button you will use to put it down ^^

If you want to practice or verify, can always unsync Copperbell HM and use the bombs on Biggy to get a feel for it! (Since it was mentioned, lol)

Your hotbar automatically switches so that you have a shut down action. Like being on a chocoporter.

It should automatically switch your hotbar to show the "Drop" skill. At least, it does for me when I pick something up like that(or that particular one exactly). It is automatically set to R2+circle for me.

Ahhh, OK. I'm thinking I might have accidentally hit R1 and switched to my regular crossbar, and didn't think to cycle through them.
