I don't know if it's just a few days of horrendous luck, but I've been doing the upper floors of Palace of the Dead and getting Gold sacks, only to find...
-Palace of the Dead Wall!
-Palace of the Dead Pedestal!
The things I get from silver sacks are better than gold, since Palace walls and pedestals are just as likely to be rewarded from lower tiers. Also I don't think I've ever seen a room actually use them. They're fine for bronze/iron sacks but gold should really have things like
- The native clothing (since no one really does Aquapolis since Uznair came)
- The dyeable poncho/hood/boots
- Perhaps items from past events that are now on Mog Station? It would be a great way to get them again - but still rare.

All the rewards as cheap cos the game is flooded with them.
It's like when that added glamour crafts mats to potd sacks. They lost there value almost over night went from like a million gil to just a couple of grand.. -

They can't. If gold bags only gave "expensive" things, those things would stop being expensive.

I'm glad it is how it is. I'd rather not have uncommon or rare items be common. The items have their worth for a reason, and this is pretty much the reason. I'm sure anyone selling Hive weapons wouldn't like those to be common. They'd be 50k in no time. Besides, it's quite rare to get below 3m worth of items in a 51-151 run, at least for me. Which considering the time and effort isn't that bad.
Also, making these items more common would lead to a really poor balance in the market.
