Unexpected error 45d(2)

As of last week, this has started happening. Animations would stop playing and then suddenly I would hit this crash. Afterwards I cannot even open the game without it immediately throwing the error at me.

I would dump my system information log, but the .exe to run to get that information will not open and is apparently corrupted. I've tried to re-install the game and it ran fine for another week, but now it's happening again.

My hard drive is in perfect health, memory is fine and my moboard is not damaged in any way. I've ruled out that it's hardware. I'm at the end of my rope and dunno what else to do.

I'm having this very same issue. Or almost the same? I can't remember the error code I get.

The crashing happens only in the Emanation (=Lakshmi fight), normal and extreme. The game systematically crashes every minute or two. Before the crash the animations stop so I have just enough time to notify the group of my impending doom. I noticed that I do stay in game and I can even read the chat logs etc if I don't click ok on the error message popup. So the game is still running, kind of. Everything is in super slow motion with no animations.

The crashes occur even if the fight hasn't started, so it's probably not related to any combat effects.

i7 4.0 GHz
32 gigs of RAM
GTX 970 (tested at least three different drivers)
Tried both HDD & SSD
Win10 Home

Did you try running as admin (or reverse if you do) ? Did you change something last weeks? What windows version are you running (winver)? Please attach a dxdiag for more informations.
Did you close all background applications, expecially liek overlay or GPU tools? Also install DX9 Redist (Yes its neccesary also for Windows 10)

Oh, admin mode, good idea. Might be worth a shot, though I doubt it'll be a workaround.

No recent changes to my system, this is actually the first "proper" bug/crash I've encountered in this game.

In my case the bug was encountered in pre-creator Win10 Home. I got the creator update a little while ago and I haven't tried Lakshmi after that.

DxDiag to be added (if I remember or CBA), currently at work.

No special bg tasks usually running unless Steam counts.

I don't think that the game will even install without the DirectX redistributable, at least in my case the game installer wouldn't run before the redist was installed.

Looking at the bugs forum & browsing other threads, this might be a game audio engine related issue. Some people have been able to make the game crash in a very similar way by simply switching their headsets to other jacks etc.
