Duty Completion
Hello,
I recently got caught by this happening in a Savage run - the leader formed a party for O1S saying it was 2 chests and included the "Duty Completion" tag in the party finder. However, after defeating the boss we only received 1 chest. I know this is because the leader did NOT queue with duty completion (or ignored the warnings when they did queue) and that if I were the leader I'd be able to do this.
My question is - is there anyway for me as a normal group member to know that the run is NOT two chests once we've queued?
Thank you!

Nope.
It's a much-needed fix. They did a similar fix back with the Binding Coil of Bahamut, but the issue is different enough that they can't just copy it over (there, it was a concept of progress, advancing the party to the leader's level of progress and requiring the leader to be the one with the most progress that week).
As such, there is presently no such warning or alert at a system level.
And yes, to add to the confusion, those party finder advertisement flags like "Duty Complete" are just for human communication purposes and don't actually carry over into the Duty Finder settings that would actually check.
So your options are just the obvious ones at this point: badger everyone to confirm that they haven't completed it yet since the reset and/or have faith that people actually read the ad and/or tell the truth.

Thank you for the response, Eve.

It really should be fixed to give the warning to everyone, not just the party leader, and let you know before you enter the duty instance.
Anyway, there's a thread in General Discussion lamenting the same problem:
