Fairly new to lvl 70 SMN, one problem i've been running into is running out of mp for trials/raids/boss fights. I've trying to spam ruinIII less as that's what's eating up most of my mp, ive been weaving in energy drains, throwing in Ruin 1s' every now and then, even with that ill occasionally run out of mp and feel like im not doing much damage.

Depending on how many times you need to revive someone you shouldn't have mp trouble as smn. Unless the fight is really drawn out. You want to use ruin 3 as much as possible but when you feel you are getting low start using ruin 1's and lucid dreaming when it's ready. You should only need to resort to energy drain if you had to rez a few people, you died or you used ruin 3 a bit too much.
Sadly SE still expects us to use Ruin 3 exclusively inside Dreadwyrm Trance and use Ruin 1 everywhere else.
You'll have to lay low with the Ruin 3 spamming if you're low on MP and resort to pathetic damage Ruin 1 does.
Basically what the guys above have said. 1. use lucid dreams off cooldown. If your following an optimal rotation it will likely come right at the end of DWT.
One thing to consider though.. If at the end of the boss you have 50-80% of your mana left, this means your not using enough ruin 3's. you should aim to have about 10% left by the time the boss dies.
