Anytime I have problems with any PVE content. For example when you have 4 enemies jump you at once in a required quest...I use my Scholar. Their survivability is off the charts. They can handle 4 same level enemies at once usually and always 3 with there fairy and healing abilities. They kill the mobs a little slower that other classes . But the difference is not great.
The aid of a pet gives both Scholar and its partner job, Summoner, really great survivability. I'm not sure "easy" is quite the right word for it, though, since really maximizing their abilities involves extra work to control both your character and your pet.
Healer is quite good at surviving encounters, but they'll take longer to clear them than a DPS class would, while tanks have the middle ground in this regard.
If you have trouble with this on other classes, use the healing Chocobo. It keeps all my classes alive through most solo content.
