To encourage that people improve themselves in PvP, how about adding some achievements and rewards to that you can get by receiving commendations through PvP?
Minions, mounts, glamour. Maybe old rewards from past seasons?

You do realise that most people leave commendations completelly randomly for all reasons possible, and performance is last of them, right? For glamours, for funny name, for communication, for the challenge log xp, and, most importanly, for tanking/healing because people think it's very hard for some reason (it's not). Nobody cares if you do 55% of party damage.
I'm not proud of my 7k because it means literally nothing.

I've always thought achievements (other than participation / victories) would be nice. Score a last-second victory? Do or heal over a certain amount of damage? Run a Feast mode in your underwear? Something like a PVP challenge log would be cool.

Either way, performing well should increasing the chance of getting a commendation or two. Isn't that the reason they were implemented?
