as SAM in 4v4, I need help

I'm new to PvP this season. Played like 50 games in the pre-season to get a hang of it. Not sure what my target priority is, and there isn't a lot/much of any recent content to get a decent look at how SAM is supposed to be played in ranked. At least, not much I can find that talks specifically about target priority / strategies.

Most of my games I'm averaging around 150k damage, which doesn't seem like much compared to the DRGs I see with over 200k. Often, however, my damage is very close to my ranged DPSers on my team. Sometimes higher.

I feel like I should be bursting down the squishes as a general rule, but everyone seems to be focusing the tanks for some reason... should I focus the ranged dps as a general guideline first? Should I help peel? Focus the healers first? I'm just unsure what my top priority is. I try to do all of these things oriented around the team, but everyone seems to always focus on something else.

I'll keep playing and learn. I just wanna learn fast, and this whole inability to talk to people IN my games properly is making real-time learning very ...trying.

Check medal stacks.

1 stack -> 12% more damage

10 stacks -> 120% more damage

As a melee DPS, if everyone has no stacks or the same amount, I tend to go for the ranged DPS.

If the other DPS and tank go for the healer, I help them out.

Depends on the situation and what they say in chat.

Healers tend to shout out their current MP amount so breaking the Wolf's Heart box becomes an objective.

I find that target priority begins when the opposing team picks up their offensive/defensive supplies. Don't get stuck thinking a certain role is going to be the first priority for each single game. Recognize the icons for defensive supplies, safeguard, and tank LB and learn to hold on to your cds/retreat/switch targets when you notice them. More importantly, learn the importance of medals. There is another new thread with a link about medals and how they affect you and prioritization.
