Medal Durdling

How do you guys feel about people picking up medals ,and running back to home base to sit the rest of the match? In 4v4 i feel there is a fair argument of strategy but in 8v8 it seems harder to break through to their base to retrieve those medals. I almost feel like there needs to be a debuff similar to culling time that force moves them back to their team if they remain inactive in combat for so long. Anyone else have an opinion on this?

No, please. The medal system is counter-intuitive and punishing enough already, now you want to add more punishment to force the 10-stack guy back to the fray and feed your team? In 8v8, any NIN worth their salt will stealth up, sneak into base and LB one-shot the poor sod.

A fair way of looking at things although you don't always have a ninja to do so. I guess what I'm getting at is that I don't get why people would go all the way back and sit ,rather than play back row defense and support where you can still contribute.

It pays to mark and actively keep track of who has the most medals on the other team. It's easy to tunnel in the heat of battle, and that's what people who do that rely on.

No, it's an awful strategy that only works to an extent in 8v8 where people are usually too caught up dying over and over and over again to notice the 10 stack MCH all the way in the back (who can actually get killed by anyone breathing on them if someone decides to sneak up from behind)

If you're crazy enough to be a DPS or a healer who knows how Feast works and picks up 10 stacks of medals, you're already a walking target sign. Forcing them to jump back into the fray is like adding flashing lights and moving arrows to that target sign.

I don't mean in the front line but protecting the back row heals from getting stun locked by tanks etc. seems better than standing around spamming actions to not get kicked out.

No, just don't do it at all, you're being useless by 10 stacking.

Leave it alone. That person who picked up 10 metals at least picked them up. I've seen metals just left on the field so many times because the team assumes that the tank can pick it up, or people don't want to pick it up because of the vuln penalty. Then there are times that you queue in and there's no tank. Someone has to pick up the metals. You already get a punishment for doing the goal, why does there need to be another one?

In the 8v8 maps there are alternate routes to sneak behind the other team, so it's easy enough to just go there and kill the 10-stacker.
