DRG buff idea (Getting into LotD faster)

TL;DR MAKE BLOOD OF THE DRAGON GIVE A SINGLE STACK OF EYE UPON USE

With the latest patch, drg got buffed and is now about on par with nin in terms of personal dps. However, it still brings less raid utility than a nin which makes it a little less desirable. To remedy this, dragoon's personal dps should reside somewhere between monk and ninja's. Now, the easy and lazy way to fix drg dps is to just add how much ever dps% increase you want into the Heavy Thrust buff.

My idea would be to add a bonus effect to Blood of the Dragon that basically makes it so that after every use of the ability, a single stack of eye is granted. This allows you to generate three eyes in your opener (one from jump, spineshatter and botd) and then you would get your 4th and final eye 30s into the fight from using BotD. Geirskogul also comes up again roughly 40s - 45s into a fight which will then transition you into LotD.

Building off of that, after you enter LotD ~40s in, you immediately get back one stack of eye from jump coming off CD (pop jump on cd, geirskoul into lotd, mirage dive after the transition). Now, the next ability that grants eye stacks to come off CD would be BotD again and jump soon after (both share a 30s cd). Using these two abilities would give us 2 more eye stacks, totaling 3. Our 4th and final stack would come from Spineshatter which is now off cd at this time as well. Geirskogul as well as Blood for Blood are now off CD and we can now transition into LotD while being buffed by B4B. This second LotD window is actually the first time we get to access LotD as of now.

Essentially, this change makes it so that every 30s we get two stacks (jump and BotD) and every 60s we get three (jump, BotD and spineshatter) allowing more frequent use of nastrond and a fun way to use the lvl 70 mechanic to increase dragoon's dps.

Getting into LotD and maintaining it are important. I was kinda hoping for something with the enhanced Wheeling Thrust / Fang and Claw from Lance Master trait. Make it so that using the new combo-enders reduces the cooldown of Jump by 5 seconds. Idk maybe that would break it.

I love that idea.

Imo the one problem with playing DRG isn't about DPS or utility. It's about how their mechanic is designed & what it is supposed to be.
Is it supposed to be a long build up for a burst phase or is it a buff u have to keep up to get an overall dps increase?
But right now it's neither of those. It has a long buildup for barely any burst.

SE can balance it all they want but it just doesn't feel satisfying to use at all. Unless they buff Nastrond to be very strong so it becomes a real burst. But as it is right now it's justt lots of effort for low reward.

A change where LoTD would be easier to get (easier to maintain) would make it more of a sustained mechanic that offers a general dps increase. More satisfying to maintain the small dps increase LoTD offers.

Every DPS has a "gotta go fast" skill that instantly gives them a lot of their job gauge resource or allows them to gain it quickly. DRG doesn't.

Technically out of all of those only Manafication gives gauge resource.
Flamethrower, Dreadwyrm Trance/Deathflare, Mug, and Brotherhood are the gauge resource boosters for the remaining jobs you've listed.

On topic:
Personally I was hoping that they'd do away with the timer completely, instead just allowing WT & F&C to generate charges of Blood of the Dragon, which could then be spent on Geirskogul, which when spent would augment into gaze. For instance, let's say every 4 charges (the first WT/F&C gives 2 charges, and following Lance Mastery the 2nd gives 1 more; Jump grants 1, SSD 2, and DFD 3) allows for a Geirskogul. You can hold up to 10 charges. Geirskogul remains at a 4-GCD CD (10s, scaling down with Attack Speed). For every 3 Gierskogul used, you can enter Life of the Dragon, augmenting your Geirskogul into Nastrond and reducing their charge cost by 33%-50%. The idea is you pool up charges before entering LotD, then blow through it for maximized burst. Combination of Warrior and Summoner, essentially.

Drg main here since 2.0 gonna add my 2cents worth.
I would have to agree with most of you here that drg problems isn't there dps or utility any more than the kit over all, however, the big problem I see most of all is how the drg gets it's stacks and how the kit interacts with this mechanic. Without changing too much i think that if DfD and BotD gave stacks this help speed up the process of getting into LotD. Alternatively if SE thinks it's fine the way it is then let LotD give a massive potency buff to some the weapon skills like wheeling thrust and fang n claw.
I just feel that the risk vs reward of the kit, rotation, skills etc. do not equal the dmg output that the drg could be doing
Just some food for thought.

I think that the easiest way to alleviate all the rotation based issues is to have every jump, including elusive, proc 'dive ready'.
