An aethersand annoyance
In HW, we used to get some different crystals and clusters from farming sands, right? In Stormblood every useful node gives water -- and only water. Dusklight and dawnlight are best gotten from fishing, which gives water crystals. Everdeep gives water crystals. And everbright mining also gives water crystals. I haven't had any need for everborn so far. This must be a brainfart on the part on Square Enix... I think. Hope they switch things around at some point.

What are you on about?
[Miner]
Schorl (Lightning) Dawnlight Aethersand
Perlite (Water) Everbright Aethersand
Almandine (Fire) Dusklight Aethersand
[Botanist]
Torreya Branch (Ice) Everborn Aethersand
Doman Yellow (Earth) Dusklight Aethersand
Windtea Leaves (Wind) Dawnlight Aethersand
There's more than one node.

I know there are more nodes, but they're not really needed. The ones I need to farm all give water... Dawnlight, dusklight and everdeep from fishing, and Everbright from mining. All water. Maybe I would need everborn if I sold some different stuff, but that's it.

If you're farming for crystals specifically, then just farm the other items and sell the sands you don't need.

Fishing always gave ice and water in HW, so I don't get the complaint, don't fish if you want different clusters and crystals, sell the sand you don't need and use that gil to buy more clusters and crystals.
