PLD Consolidated Feedback Thread

Seeing the other tanks get organised I hoped someone would make a similar thread for PLD, but seeing as no one has I've decided to step up.

This is thread should be used to provided feedback good and bad in an organised and concise way.

I am by no means an expert on PLD, I only started tanking seriously for SB, but I feel that PLDs are in a good spot right now. I'm glad SE decided to go full steam on the idea that PLDs are defenders and have incorporated new abilities to complement this.

However, the whole idea with the new gages and the role actions was to simplify and stream line the abilities each class required, I don't think this has been very successful on PLD.

I'm still trying to find a good reason to use 'Spirits Within' the potency isn't high and now that the silence has been removed I'm not sure why I should be using this?

It's free oGCD damage that requires zero resource. There isn't a reason to not be using it.

I can see what you're saying, and I do use it in my melee DPS phase when I'm OT but, it just seems like extra fluff. I use a controller when I play and whenever I have to prioritize where to put new skills for maximum efficiency this ability gets pushed to the back.

2 more seconds to requiescat buff would be nice.

The only thing that PLD can complain about is how unnecessary their gauge is. Like, they could've just put Sheltron and Intervention on a longer CD and not even bother with putting a gauge on PLD, the result would've been the same. They just put a gauge because every job got one, but PLD by far got the worst one.

Everything else is damn good on this job and shouldn't be touched. They just need to put DRK and WAR at the same level.

To be fair, and I DO love my pld, I think holy spirit need to cost a bit more mp. 5-6 fell cleaves?????? Sorry War.

I really don't care for our gauge, it feels incredibly tacked on.

I still have a problem with the recast on Tempered Will. 3 mins is a really long cool down on an ability that isn't that strong. Surecast and Arm's Length are similar abilities with much shorter cool downs. I know those are role abilities but a recast that is 3x as long seems excessive.

The only thing I'd still request for Paladin be changed is Swordoath, emphasis on SWORDoath ONLY, being changed into OGCD. Warriors and DRKs can flawlessly and without GCD loss switch from Tankstance into DPSstance and it would be great if the same would treatment would extent to Paladin.
Not saying it's absolutely necessary and Paladin is still better than WAR/DRK without that change, but it would be a nice change non-the-less.
