Crafter grind
you have changed the battle system with SB. Why did you leave the crafter system unchanged? it makes absolutely no sense to me that i need every other crafter gatherer up there to level one job. way to many materials from other jobs are needed and they are extremely depending from each other.
cross skills are a must have as well. this is really unsexy. thats why only few people level them at all. at least people i know

The crafting system is fine. We don't need gauges for crafting, we already have a perfectly good crafting UI. People don't level them all because they don't want to put the time and effort into doing so.

Speak for yourself. On my server a lot of people level their crafting. I find crafting relaxing and it's not hard to level up all of the jobs if you want that. If you don't, well, they've been working hard at putting in alternate versions of most of the essential cross-class skills for a while now. With materials you can either choose to make them yourself or buy them from others. I don't see a problem with that choice.

I love how interconnected the crafting classes are, and how involved the whole crafting system is in this game.
It was pretty disappointing that the combat jobs no longer have anything to do with each other. The ability for a character to learn everything was one of the game's biggest draws, and is now fairly pointless for everything except crafting. Don't take it away there, too.

I'm loving crafting in SB. I absolutely hated it at the launch of HW.

it is better now that every job gets Hasty Touch II, Careful Synthesis III, Rapid Synthesis II and Manipulation II. You can have 1 job at 70 (and others at 50) and do fine.
