Mogstation pricing policy changed?

[Sorry if this post is in the wrong section; since this might be an error with Mogstation after the maint, or be an unannounced change in the service, it felt like "Website Feedback" was appropriate.]

Some players from outside NA but playing in NA servers use Steam to pay for stuff in Mogstation. For as long as I can remember, MS used Steam's internal currency conversion (which takes into account factors such as each country's buying power). It was both very practical and it allowed us to pay, in our local currency, a price that was more compatible with the economical situation of our countries. A pretty nice touch.

...But seemingly after the maintenance for patch 4.05 (which included maint for MS) the conversion was gone. Now we just get redirected to the flat price in USD, a hefty and sometimes prohibitive price hike.

Was this a mistake by the Mogstation team during the maint? Was this a deliberate decision? Was this some error on the Steam API side?

Update: I've just contacted Square Enix support and they said the decision is indeed deliberate. All regions that were using differential pricing due to Steam's currency conversion are now restricted to prices in USD.

Sadly, that implies a price hike of nearly double, for some regions. It'll be the point where many will have to leave the game.

I really hope this decision is not final, as it's probably far more harmful than "getting more money per sub payment" might suggest.

They changed the conversion value of BRL (Brazilian money) and RUB (Russian money).

In Brazilian case (as i am Brazilian), each USD is around 3,20 BRL and Steam converts each USD as it is around 2,00 BRL. This difference seems small, but the wage in Brazil is obviously different from US, then when you convert the subscription, the value in BRL raise a LOT in comparison to the value that Steam provided before. It's a very unfair price and it's not a market pratice.

Many brazilians are very disapointed with SE because they didn't warn us. People that couldn't pay the new subscription fee wouldn't buy Stormblood and now people acquired Stormblood, but can't pay the new sub.

Our last hope we have is the "Auto Renew" via Steam Wallet in Mogstation, that still charging 32,00 BRL per month, but we dont know if it will be affected too...so we are worried.

PS: Its worth to say: at least Behemoth is completely full of brazilian players.
