Just a curious thought I had about consolodating attack skills...

... I'm merely stating what I find as an easier way since they apparently wanted to make classes less complicated, why is it when I pvp as say dragoon my attack skills are into 2 sets of combos only using 2 actual hotbar icons. This would make screwing up combos alot less and easier to manage if they were just 2 icons outside of combat. That way I could put more on my 1 hotbar instead of having 2-3 hotbars. Is this not a good idea or am I missing something o_O.

Actually you aren't the first to suggest this being something applied to PVE content.

I think the reason this wasn't applied outside PVP is because some classes don't have the same sort of 1-2-3 combos, so their hotbars going from PVE to PVP content were consolidated and cut differently and that the PVP versions ignore procs.



I don't think it would hurt anyone to make it an option, though.

Sounds reasonable enough, I haven't had experience with other melee classes with combo's like this but I guess if they wanted it to work they would find a way :P. I doubt they will but here's hoping they consider it at some point X-D. I'm always for making things simpler without necessarily making it easier.

I agree, I always cringe when I see people fight against ability pruning with the argument "You're making the game too easy/boring"

Please. FFXIV's combat system is ancient and outdated, its the same formula used for mmos since before WoW. at least simplify the skill bloat a bit. Content will still be plenty challenging, all that will result from making classes reasonably easy to learn is allowing people to focus better on the actual mechanics and not on struggling to maintain their rotation.
