An oversight on SAM and RDM lv.50-60 job quests?

As most people know, each time an expansion is released, finishing the MSQ is a prerequisite for the new job quests of an ARR job.
For instance a WHM needs to finish the ARR 2.55 MSQ for the lv. 50 job quest starting the 50-60 story arc and he also needs to finish the HW 3.56 MSQ for lv. 60 job quest starting the 60-70 story arc.

For jobs introduced in HW, one needs to complete the ARR 2.55 MSQ to unlock them. Therefore, the ARR 2.55 MSQ was an implied prerequisite for the 50-60 arc story. Like for ARR jobs, finishing the HW MSQ is now needed for the new jobs quests.
For instance, an AST needs to finish the HW 3.56 MSQ for lv. 60 job quest starting the 60-70 story arc.

For jobs introduced in SB, one only needs to have a lv. 50 job to unlock them. Yet, no ARR 2.55 MSQ prerequisite is mentioned for the second lv. 50 job quest. Like for ARR and HW jobs, finishing the HW MSQ is now needed for the jobs quests after lv. 60.

For instance, a RDM does not need to complete anything to do the
50-60 story arc but he needs to finish the HW 3.56 MSQ for lv. 60 job quest starting the 60-70 story arc.

Furthermore, lv. 52-60 SAM and RDM abilities are not gated by job quests. Isn't it weird that changing job to a SB one for a fresh lv. 50 player more rewarding than sticking to his original job, especially since people can level past lv. 50 easily before reaching Ishgard?

I understand that the dev did not want to gate RDM and SAM behind the MSQ. But shouldn't both jobs have their second lv. 50 job quest gated behind the 2.55 MSQ like any other job?

That's precisely the reason WHY SAM and RDM aren't gated behind it. People threw a hell of a fit (and rightly so) about the jobs being locked behind expansion-only areas, so SE decided to allow SAM and RDM unlockable by getting a job to 50 and completing the Praetorium (EDIT: so Prae's not a requirement, my bad). This gives players a chance to try out the new jobs without having to progress through the crapload of main quests just to reach the expansion content. While the odds of this happening with DRK, MCH, and AST are slim to none, I hope future jobs follow the same path SAM and RDM has so everybody gets a chance to mess with them. While I can understand your reasoning behind the job quests themselves being gated behind MSQ completion, nobody wants to go through that slog just to unlock mandatory skills (since the 50-60 quests give you abilities you can't learn normally).

First, this is not true that SAM and RDM require Praetorium completion, as of today, there is no quest prerequisite for SAM and RDM. Actually it even seems that people do not need to complete Sylph-management while it is the MSQ prerequisite for every ARR job (and by extension HW job)!

Second, I know people through a fit, that is why I mentioned the second lv. 50 quest not the unlocking quest.

What puzzles me is why someone playing BLM up until lv. 50 and switching to RDM could be lv. 60 with its lv. 60 job quest done and its lv. 60 ability obtained without even needing reaching Ishgard. While he could be lv. 60 but with no quests done and thus no 52+ abilities on their BLM in the mean time.

If you have a level 60 job while stuck behind ARR content, you have much more to worry about than your job quests. Regardless, this is nothing but a good change that I hope to see in the future from now on. And keep in mind, there are certain job quests in the 50-60 SAM/RDM quests (Samurai especially) that require you to head to expansion-only areas, so obviously you can't complete them until you reach said areas.

I agree that unlocking SAM and RDM like that is a good change! I even thought they would move DRK, AST and MCH to Coerthas Central Highlands so that people could unlock them at lv. 30. But I guess it was too much work.

For SAM, I did not kow that and indeed, it seems lv. 58 asks to go to Ishgard, thanks!
For RDM however, I could not find such a requirement in the quests related NPC though.

You're right with RDM, all of the job quests up to 60 are included within ARR areas.

But as you noticed, 50-60 Samurai does eventually require you to reach Ishgard which is why I made that little point in the parenthesis.
