How do I use Terminal Velocity?

It seems like that whenever I try to use TV, unless my enemies are neatly lined up in a narrow corridor with no hope of side-stepping, I will always miss.

It also seems like I never hit my intended target. I get that we need an active "target" to be selected before we can activate the skill, but whether or not I'm "looking" at that target seems irrelevant. Having no visible aoe indicator for myself to judge where the attack is planned is no help either. With this netcode, pvp is cancer as it is, so I've stuck to ranged classes due to the less-frustrating nature of playing them, but this one aspect still gives me trouble. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

There's several ways you can use it.

Look for natural choke points like the entrances to ice areas in Shatter, major throughfares in all the maps, or key objectives. Anywhere opponents might gather up. If you're playing MCH, you have one of the few stuns remaining in PvP. Don't be afraid to use it.

Does it matter where I am facing? Or does it automatically orient towards who I am targeting?
