POTD is not easy solo

I am an Arcanist. Usually monsters on the very first floor kill me very easily. There is usually a Level 3 Ziz or a level 4 antelope very close to where you start. I stand no chance against these at level 1. Any advice to surviving long enough to get a foothold on making it through.

...Don't go in solo? Queues for PotD tend to be rather quick, so there's barely ever any wait.

Alternatively, grab your SMN job crystal, that should give you some pretty hearty boosts in your power.

Thanks for the advice. It did seem like it was not meant for solo runs from my experience in there. So people do queue up to run groups through that content even though the journey is kind of repetitive. You could spend hours in there . How long do these groups last.

Only until the end lf that set of floors. Each set is 10 floors, with there being a boss at the last floor.

In order to queue up, when you set up a new save file, make sure you select "matched party" instead of "fixed party". That'll put you with other players.

Ruin....That 1 spell does not put out enough firepower to come close to equaling the damage that those monsters do to you ( % wise per attack comparing your health to theres ). Plus they are aggressive and seem to be faster than you are. So you cannot run around and expect to find a place to get a spell off. You will get hit long before it happens.You don't have any summons yet. All you have is the ruin spell. So a toe to toe fight with either is certain death.

It's really not? We all did it as L1 jobs...not to mention that you kill 2-3 of them and level up.


I'm sorry, but if you're wiping to the first floor then you have no chance on the second!...

I mean its very simple. The only thing you can do is hit the spell button everytime it cools down. You have no other abilities till you get at least 1 level. Either its enough damage or its not. There are also level 1 elementals and level 2 mouses in the first level. You probably got a lucky setup with no Level 3 Ziz or Level 4 Antelopes near by. I have not in about 7-8 tries. All the monsters are aggressive. There are no passive ones.

Don't target the level 3's. Target the level 1's and level 2's and you'll level up extremely quickly.
