Is it bothersome? I've never heard of this problem in arr or hw.
Yeah honestly, I've never really complained, and learned to work around it, but hell... this change would be AMAZING!
It's not a problem when I played with a mouse and keyboard, as you could just click a monster in the direction you wanted to use Overpower.
But now that I have a controller, it's a pain in the ass sometimes. One part that comes to mind is when the monsters in Zurvan start to spawn, the fact that you have to target all over the place until you're at the right one, is just really annoying and frustrating. Especially when you miss one and have to chase after it as it goes off.
This is a great idea, surprised I haven't seen it on the forums sooner. I don't think DRK needs a target for their emnity AOE and I could be wrong but pretty sure paladins don't need one for flash either so why does Warrior need a target?
The reason it wasn't brought up before is because we could use Flash on top of Overpower so we had a way to get aggro from the monsters we missed when using the move. Now that we can't use it, now it's become a problem. Especially with bigger models.
If you turn off face target, you actually do somethign similar to this, of course it makes other issues pop up.
I dont usually see enemies sitting still long enough for a mouse target to work.
I actually find tab target quicker/more effective, if u tilt the camera down more, as then you have a better means to select the target you want on the 1st button press.
Forget that, just give us a replacement for Flash. Problem solved.
Because at the moment, our aoe threat (save for threat generating abilities, which does not work well for prolonged engagements) is tied to our TP, whereas the other two have it tied to MP, meaning that after spending some time focus combo-ing, they can resume spamming AoEs. Warrior can't.
Removing the need for a target won't solve all our problems, because enemies STILL won't gather up nicely for us. Summoners get annoyed when you drag things out of their shadowflare, but we have to do that in order to keep hitting them with overpower.
