Passage of Arms inconsistency vs Susano

While farming Susano Ex for a good 8 hours yesterday, I started to notice that Passage of Arms wasn't functionning as it should against Ame-no-murakamo (Susano's transition hit). The block rate is about 40%, instead of the 100% it should be.

Is there something going on that I'm not aware of? (transition ignoring PoA and thus only using base block rate or something?) Or it is just that the timer of the attack is way off compared to its animation?

This is the only instance where I've noticed that, but it's also because Susano is the only instance I bother to use PoA consistently

Passage of Arms has about a 1.5sec delay before it actually takes effect. Also it brings the block rate up to 100% not the block strength.

I know about that. The animation is always fully played when ame-no-murakamo hits. To no avail though.

Passage of arms sucks shit. We have known this since it was announced that you couldnt attack with it active. Idk what people were expecting.

What shield is blocking 40%? I have the 310 tome shield and highest I've seen is 24% :/ I've seen 40% mentioned multiple times, so just wondering what I'm missing

The trick with that attack is that it snapshots player stats at the start of the animation. if you have passage of arms active before the divide appears, it'll work every time. I notice this also on my galvanize buffs. if I deploy an adlo before the divide appears, it soaks correctly and reduces the damage everyone takes. if I deploy adlo after the divide appears, it hits everyone for full strength, and they still have the galvanize buff, because it wasn't on when the damage was calculated.

what does this has to do with what op is talking about?

There is a delay,also I noticed the animation cuyshalf way.the weird part is that,provide d that you activate it 2 seconds before,the mitigation is all there.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't even work for that. I've also tried Divine Veil well before it hit and everyone just took the damage while the Divine Veil shield stayed intact.

Ame no Murakumo damage snapshot moment is really, really early after second sword broke.
