QOL request for GP regeneration.

I have run into this many times and it annoys me to all ends.

There are still ways that GP regeneration will stop in its tracks, even if you are not gathering- This should never be the case. It should consistently regenerate if you are not in a node, no matter what else you are doing.

One easy to replicate example is if I use all of my gp on a node, and log out. 5 mins, an hour, a day later, when I login, I am left with the same 100-150 GP that I had when the logout timer completed.

Please address this. For our sanity.

IT'S IN OUR BLOOD AND OUR BLOOD CAN'T FLOW WHEN WE AREN'T ONLINE AND ALIVE. I can see how this would be a problem for those that simple log on at specific times of the day either because they can and are restrained by their daily schedule or are just trying to hit a particular node at a particular times.

Sadly if this was a thing people would simply log out for two seconds and log back in and WA-BAM SUPER CORDIAL.

I believe it would be entirely possible for them to make it so that the mere act of logging out and then logging back in doesn't give you full GP but rather the amount of GP you should have regained in that time. There are several buffs that work like this, but also buffs that don't move, and buffs that disappear entirely. The lack of consistency among them is extremely annoying.

They could.. But whether this be an excuse they have readily available, are lazy, or just have other reasons, I don't know.

A fair point by them is the fact that your cordial recast timers do not pause like GP regeneration.

Also of not they do so much things during times of high player activity to make sure players are not logged in afk for long periods of time, yet they punish gatherers for not staying on afk?

The reason they won't fix this is $$$$. Not real life money, but gil.

Economic control, pure and simple. We are manufacturing items and therefore money out of thin air when we gather. Unlike crafting which is constrained by other materials, the only constraint they can put on gatherers are timers.

Same reason FFXI had skeletons on the ferries that people fished on. You could make a loooooooot of money on those ferries. So they'd periodically make it difficult or impossible to fish by spawning the Sea Horror on top of you, forcing you to use Sneak or Silent Oils to not end up dead.

What he's talking about is the fact that if you log out while missing GP, you could come back hours later and be at the same amount of GP when you log in. This doesn't constrain the market at all when you could regen GP by standing around being logged in at that time. It's just a dumb system.
