What if unchained was replaced with inner release in Defiance?

So, we can't untie the cool downs because they share a button.

Unchained is only useful when you know you either HAVE to stay in tank stance OR you are doing a berserk + unchained + overpower mega pull.

So why not just replace it? This would make them more self sustainable, maybe making up for their more complex rotation and less DPS? (I dunno, I don't actually parse)

This would make us a better Main Tank as healers could do more DPS instead of healing us. It would keep Enhanced Infuriate viable and not completely change our rotation (We would still be 3 / 4 inner beasts in berserk window without it and 6 inner beasts in berserk window with it just like Fell Cleave.)

This continued rotation is great in my eyes.

Aside from the challenge that would be retooling Unchained into something else, I do see the merit in this suggestion. It would at least calm the complaints about Inner Release being only for Deliverance.

Because Unchained is actually a useful ability?

The only issue is that Inner Release largely invalidates it. All that needs to be done is separate their recasts; it's simple.

Inner Release was a nerf. It exists to make Unchained weaker because it was too strong before. It's not actually a DPS buff because they reworked the formula going into 4.0 so that you're back where you started in terms of DPS even with IR.

SE was hoping you wouldn't notice they were nerfing WAR because they did it by giving them something new instead of taking something away. They succeeded in that, but players still sensed there was something not nice about the situation and are complaining anyway so the success is meaningless.

IMO it's kind of dishonest so it's fair that people are complaining. If they had just been upfront about nerfing WAR I feel that players would have been more receptive.

Do people even like Inner Release? I've found it to be one of the more obnoxious cooldowns to work around. I don't know, maybe if the payoff was a little bit better I would like it.

Both WAR and PLD got this "12-15 seconds of 1 button" mechanic that I find kind of annoying. It would be nice if the payoff was bigger and you used your nuke less frequently like Foul or Ahk Morn.

Shouldn't complain though or you might end up with the "push the Dark Arts every 2 seconds" mechanic.

Unchained is actually one of the best skills in Warrior's kit. But as said earlier, it's now trash because it shares a cooldown with Inner Release

If anything, it would be better to completely separate those skills and rework Inner Release into something like "the next 2 gauge-spenders cost half gauge" and reduce its cooldown. That could give us more flexibility with Fell Cleaves and Upheavals during non-zerk windows

Upon reaching Lv70, Unchained transforms into Internal Release:

Internal Release
Halves Beast Gauge costs and nullifies Stun, Sleep, Bind, Heavy, knockback, and draw-in effects. Increases damage dealt by 25%
Duration: 20 sec
Additional Effect (Defiance): Nullifies damage penalty inflicted by Defiance
Additional Effect (Defiance): Restores 15% of damage dealt as HP
Beast Gauge Cost: 20
Recast time 120 sec

I think 30 BG and 180 sec cd would be more appropriate with a damage increase. But if we are gonna dream..

No we dont like it, it fkn sucks. Warriors aren't even capable of pulling a boss anymore because it shares a cd with unchained. War used to be the best for pulling the boss now we are so penaxlized that no even below average group will be forcing their war to pull anything. And inner release is dcumb af, like you are alternating between a shit zerk and a super zerk the whole time and if it doesn't line up due ro mechs your fucked. I feel like I am playing a dps with the difficulty of the rotation while still having all the responsibility of a tanki all while getting no more damage than a pld when I am doing twice the work for my damage. if I fuck up even once, dps in the trash, like 300-500 dps gone. Fkn dumb.

Yeah it's productivity is not what the hype would have made you think.

It shouldn't be tied to Unchained, should be available in either stance, IMO. Unchained should always be a bonus CD exclusive to Defiance, no more flawed duality paradigms, plz.

Add a +10% crit chance to Unchained (which its needed since HW), and add a 10-15% (extra +5% if in Defiance maybe) damage delivered increase to Inner Release.

Gives back some of old WAR's narrow and deep burst window identity, with building it around Inner Release instead of Zerk (cooldowns adjusted appropriately).

Unchained actually valued over just switching to Deliverance now, since the crit-buff acts as the old 'switched to Del but keep stacks,' and also the cooldown will feel like an Defiance exclusive Internal Release.

Almost sounds like the stance penalty is working as intended ^_^
