Leveling on second job
I am now hitting level 30 on my Arcanist. I wish to change to Scholar now that I am elgible. However I am not going to have the benefit of the MSQs to help me level until I again reach level 30 correct. What is the best way to proceed since leveling is going to be much harder until I reach that point and a little more boring to.
Do I have this right or does Scholar start at level 30 instead of level 1.

The only tip I can offer you is that minimum you want to have one of each Role type, here's why...
Tanks: faster queues, can progress trough story pretty fast. Great for daily Tome farming.
DPS: Range or Close in. Enough said.
Healer: If you enjoy it decent queue wait times.
Over all if you want to level up in the future you can do Role rotation parties.
Or for achievements I Love relics and goal is all of them. Eventually :P
Palace of the Dead is good for quick leveling to 50, 50 - 60 depends on your patience.

Scholar is directly tied to your Arcanist level, so you won't have to level it again (and any progress you make on it will also count for Summoner if you want to pick that up). So it'll start at 30, or whatever level your Arcanist is.
For future reference for other jobs, the primary ways of levelling outside of MSQ are Fates, Dungeons and Roulettes, or Palace of the Dead. From level 30 onwards, PVP is also an option.
Good luck!

ok thank you..I am glad I don't have to start it at level 1..

I'd stay out of PvP as a leveling mechanic until at least 60. Especially now that exp rewards have been reduced if you don't get first place.
Unless you really like PvP.
As a side note, because job level is equal to class level (and vice versa), it does mean that for every level you gain as a Scholar, it's a level your Summoner automatically gains. When you're a level 70 Scholar, you're also a level 70 Summoner. You get two jobs for the price of one.
