Masamune for Samurai? I'd totally glam that!

I mean you wouldn't deny us a staple katana of the series would you Square Enix? Even if it comes from Mogstation it'd be awesome to have!

It's highly likely Masamune will be added some time in the future (it was the SAM level 99 Empyrean Weapon in FFXI after all), given it's a reoccurring weapon throughout the FF series.... but don't expect it to be FFVII's version. Most likely it will have an original (and presumably fancy) design that will look nothing like previous incarnations.

But yes if SE doesn't end up eventually adding it to the game, I'll eat my Curtana.

Never played 12, or 11, or 13... The only thing I know for sure is it won't be as long as they made it for Sephiroth lol

It'll be here, probably as the final form of the SAM relic weapon they'll probably start the questline for in 4.1.

Might be 4.0 relic. It's a iconic weapon for SAM in Final Fantasy

I wouldnt expect it would be similar like the one from FFVII. We dont get many crossover events, so why even bother right?

Final form, possibly. For now, it looks like the starting version would be Kiku-ichimonji.

If you're referring specifically to the FFVII version, then no. That isn't even a Katana, it's an Odachi (pretty much, Japanese Great Sword). Be more of a DRK thing.

Given the propensity in Final Fantasy to recycle names/themes, I really see no reason to not include an iconic weapon such as Masamune (and the Muramasa while we're in that neighborhood).

I'm sure we will see Masamune and Amanomurakumo at some point.

Susano has the ame no murakumo already. We probably won't be seeing that one on samurai.
