DPS Curiosity
I'm looking into starting a DPS because sometimes the amount of facepalming I do as a healer is just too much and I feel like it would be a nice escape. At this point I'm not going to main a DPS, I love healing overall, but I want something that feels complicated enough to let me get a little lost in the rotation.
Some things about me in hopes they help people give reccomendations...
I won't play something because it outputs the most DPS.
I enjoy party utility.
I haven't done melee but I'm not opposed to it.
I love cool armor and weapon glamors. Generally not satisfied with dyed hempens, I like to look like I might actually kill stuff or just follow the general aestetic of the job.
I play on mouse and keyboard so I'm not opposed to lots of necessary buttons and moves.
I enjoy mobility generally, one of the few things I don't enjoy about WHM play actually.
So yeah... Any thoughts on what to play and why would be very much appreciated, thank you!

And I put this in these wrong place, skill... Damnit >.<

Red Mage or Bard sounds up your alley
Red Mage is very strong at the moment, and very mobile as they can move during the downtime between their dual cast and next main cast, mixed in with their dash in attack for the melee combo and back flip if need be, they also provide a melee dps boost for the party as well as unlimited instant cast rezes, can also serve as a ghetto healer if for some reason a moment called for that.
Bard is 100% mobile, gives 2% crit to the party, and has a direct hit buff for the party, they also can give mp and tp to the party. On top of that they can also give the tanks a free rampart and convalescence

Yeah RDM. It won't be too far removed from what you are used to as healer and if shit hits the fan and you need to emergency heal, your past experience can come in handy.
Any full-time melee jobs might be too jarring, as it definitely calls for a different mindset.

RDM, BRD, or possibly NIN sounds like something you might enjoy. Glamour is up to personal tastes, but some of the NIN gear goes with the aesthetic very well. It's super old, but the Arachne scouting top remains my absolute favorite NIN glam.

As someone who played Scholar and liked stance dancing with Cleric Stance.
I could say that RDM feels right to me. If I were a DPS Healer as Scholar before, I can be a Healer DPS with RDM if the situation demands it.
They are the most mobile casters, they pump a considerable amount of damage, Best AF armor set (subjective), and they have a cure that actually heals a considerable amount of HP. Not to mention they can raise people better than healers, thanks to Dualcast trait.

Sounds like you've been looking for Red Mage. Super easy and fun to play with high mobility and party utility. It's a caster job, but it's really enjoyable!

Thank you to everyone for responding despite my blonde moment putting this thread in the healer forums! I think I'm going to level BRD for now with the intention of trying both it and RDM at higher levels.
