BLM 4.0 rotation ?

So i'm nearly level 50 BLM yet loving the class and planning to main caster dps to 70 so wondering what rotation should i be using to level upto 70 (steps via leveling ?)

I forget if you need the 68 skill, Umbral Hearts, to perform the 4.0 AF rotation but it goes F3>F4>F4>F4>F1>F4>F4>F4. At 70, your UI will go B3>Foul>T3>B4.

There have been a lot of posts popping up explaining how the 3.0 rotation, F4>F4>F1>F4>F4, is better though. I suggest you use the 3.0 rotation for now until we find out what 4.05 will bring to the table for BLMs.

Umbral Hearts are available as soon as you get level 58, and Fire IV can be performed 6 times, similar to our old opener.

How our 3.0 rotation can somehow be "better" is beyond me.

So Foul replace F4 at 70?

No, Foul is used during UI (Umbral Ice). You squeeze that into your rotation rather than replacing a spell for it.

the new 3.x rotation is better because any amount of movement for the 4.01 rotation loses you a F4. The 3.x rotation can also use Thundercloud procs without needing to drop an F4 to fit inside the AF timer.

The 3.x no Firestarter + Foul rotation beats both 4.x rotations in PPS. Keep in mind this is the general rotation, NOT the opener. The main reason why the 3.x rotation is better is that since you don't cast B4, you spend less time in Umbral Ice, meaning you get into Astral Fire faster, meaning you indirectly use more F4s in a fight.

If you want more proof, the #1 non-balance parse for BLM on Susano EX only uses B4 twice.
