I have 214 desynth in LTW
On gyuki leather gloves of casting (item level 200), I'm getting 0% chance.
Gaganaskin belt of scouting (item level 255), getting 35% chance.
Gyuki leather shoes, i200, again 0%
Gaganaskin halfgloves i180 (!), only 28%
is something really bugged with desynth in SB or I'm missing something obvious?
For the last two items you mentioned, that's DoH/L gear. While it looks like they're lower ilvl (due to stat allocation being different on DoH/L gear), the percentage of success rate for desynthesis is closer to DoW/M gear made with similar materials.
The Gaganaskin Halfgloves have a success rate similar to ilvl of i255 belt.
I assume for the first item you mentioned, you mean crafting instead of casting? (Since I can't find any Gyuki Leather Gloves of Casting) Gyuki DoH/L gear has it's success rate based on the i265 of the DoW/M gear made with the same materials.

It's more inner workings than just item levels. Indeed, the item level on crafter and gatherer gear is usually shown to be lower than their disciple of war/magic counterparts, but they count as their equal. For example, wyvernskin is largely i125 equipment, but a wyvernskin jerkin (gathering chest) is classified as i80. But that still counts as i125 when desynthesizing because it's in the same category of gear as the other i125, that of wyvernskin. Similarly, some glamour equipment that require high level crafting, even though they are shwon as item level 1, are indeed considered high level internally. For example, the "Expeditioner" gear set (minus the cap) counts as i210 because it's a three star level 60 craft, but it's shown as item level 1 like all glamour gear. You probably want to look at this set to level your LTW desynthesis in that level range.
