I think he's kinda like some weird meme now, I kinda like it lol.
i noticed there are all the reskinned enemies in the omega raid, very copy paste
They're enemies that originally appeared in Final Fantasy V which this raid is paying homage to hence the Catopoles enemies, they were called Achelon in FFV too.

Play more Final Fantasy games.
And then there's Halicarnassus who is both the Haukke Hard boss and the Delta 3.0 boss.
The team has a hard time coming up with unique names or designs so they borrow them from other FF games.
yeah i'd like to know whats going on with the names. Surely they are able to make the names pay homage to the source but keep them unique for this title.
Which was? This Omega tier was FFV themed. These Catoblepas-type Acherons appeared in FFV's Interdimensional Rift.
The entire thing regarding Phlegethon was an English-only issue (calling him Titan would cause more issues than trash mobs like Acheron, especially since it's pronounced differently in Japanese). If Acheron in both Crystal Tower and the Omega raid are spelt the same in Japanese ( アケローン ), then there's no issue.
The point at the time is that they did not see why they should differ from the Japanese name twice by having LotA Titan translated into Acheron and ST Acheron translated into something else while it would be easier to have both Acheron agree and make a new name for this LotA Titan.
