The lost city?
I always wonder what happened to this city/build of ffxiv, it looks very promising, if so, are we ever going to see it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgtZvn5c4e4 Anyone hear more info about this? I would like an insider to give some info ;)
PS: I know there's probably other threads out there like this one, but there's been quite of few new players and they probably don't know about this.

I'm kind of upset that that was done in 2005 (long before XIV's actual release) and they have a very nice city that looks 100x more intricate and alive than any of the cities we have now...
My, my... what happened Square? If they had stayed on a production discipline like this XIV would have been amazing at launch. Anywho, back on topic, that city just has a very Garlemond feel to it I'm not sure why. Seems a lot more futuristic/space agey than our current cities I suppose.

Oh, I want people to talk about the video in all aspects, they also do a /highfive emote as well.
-
That looks like Limsa Lominsa if Ul'dahn construction workers were allowed to build it. :D
-
Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if that ends up as Sharyalan or was an early - I mean EARLY design of limsa, it does seem it be on the water, after all.
-
Ya but it looks kinda jungley/foresty as well.
Also, I like the wild animals just flying around it.
-
Serious Response: It was just a technical demo, nothing more nothing less so it wasn't actually anything relating FFXIV as it was just a 360 Hardware test for their new engine.
Speculation: It could have been a early concept of Limsa given the concept art released shortly after (think 2008/2009 era.)

even if it was just a tech demo, they still could have used all the ideas that were in it >.>;

I actually would prefer less HD, but "cleaner" graphics (Like improved FFXI graphics) to what we have now if it meant that we would have NPCs wandering around the cities and ambient weather and such.
Because the game is beautiful right now, but not much going on in-game.

Idk about that, look at starwars, they couldn't even do good animations, let alone the world is super blah
