materia, stats weight and unability to know...

with the new materia VI, we get a +720 pt we can spend into our stats, plus the increase of stats, it's extremely hard for normal player... (and we don't talk of specialiste theorycrafter) to have any good reading of our materia need.

even find how much our stats affect our capacity is impossible right now.
yoshida was saying it was bad to give stats %, sadly with this increase the fact to not know exactly what do the direct hit and such, make it hard for normal player to understand how it gear affect it stats.

it's time for SE to clarify the character sheet for player to understand what they need to do with them materia, especially if we think with the futur in mind, where more stats will be added to the gear and we will reach number that have.... no signification for the normal player.

Well I don't think SE has ever given us stat weights before. Those were all figured out by the playerbase. I honestly don't think it really matters too much unless you're doing Savage content. Stat weights will probably come out after Omega though.

it's a difference between say what it's the best and simply show what do the stats weight. they want more player to play. but make quite hard to know what the customization of the stats means.
make it more clear what do the stats, but giving simple % will allows player to have a better feeling of control over them customization of them character. what a lot of person point like one of the less interesting part of the game. since we can customize the appearance of our character, but for the stats it's totally mysterious for most of the player around.

only a minority know what they do with them materia, if they want more people to go into raid, they need to give as much chance to everyone... make it clear for everyone what is what. not hard to understand, it will not make the work of theorycrafter less important, it will allows more people to partake in the whole game.

and break the imagine of elitism that ff14 get for the endgame content.

You don't need materia melds to clear raids tho. With enough gear you can do a fair bit of progression but you won't be pushing the last floor on the first week.
In the end BiS melds are just for speedkills and world firsts and bests.
And stats weights and BiS for every class are posted by the players that do the theorycrafting themselves. Those you unfairly label elitists because you don't know the stat weights that were everywhere around 3.0 and will be everywhere around 4.0 once they figure it all out.

The only things that seem like a certainty at this point are that STR is still the best thing to meld into VIT accessories for tanks, and that tenacity is such a marginal improvement over parry that you should still be avoiding it as much as possible.

the goal of the change of the combat system is reduce the difference between good and bad player... we all know this, however the system of materia that was added is a component important if you want to raid. (them goal is still to make a maximum of people to go to savage and such, because make a content for 4% of the community is stupid)
and it's not too much asked for have a clear character sheet that don't simply say that determination do.... all? increase damage, healing done and receive...

plus the theorycrafting is nice and all, but what the point if only a specialist of math can do it? theorycrafting is fun when everyone can do it. here only specialist and hardcore can do it...(and only if they have a master of mathematic) what is stupid, only FF14 hide the effect exact of the stats... is idiot. it's time to stop to hide stats and give us the exact effect of stats... what do exactly tenacity, what do exactly determination and such, many of this stats have multiple effect that it's hard to understand. actually, the secondary stats of FF14 is the worst of all mmo that exist.

it's a true mystery that have many effect that seems to do the same... tenacity and determination have a lot of common effect? what the hell? why tenacity affect damage and healing done? when we already have determination?
i feel they really need to make it clear for everyone, not only specialist, what the stats of our gear do.

it's not a hard demand, nor too complicate, it's needed for the futur, with Stormblood, we gonna see an increase of stats literrally insane. the materi VI, plus the gear 320+ gonna make us reach number that will have no more sense.

when you see that a few materia VI can make you do some jump in stats for reach some number that will litterally change your dps from shitty to very good... it's not natural that only a small portion of the community can have access to that sort of information, it's not something player much do research for know, it's a data you must have for decide which is the most interesting for you, it can lead to more customization, because if it's become more clear and open what the stats do, it will be possible to create alternate build, BiS no will have no interest without the BiS Materia meld, we don't talk of merely an add of 216 pt of secondary stats, but 720.... it's more of half of some of my stats at 70... meaning it can have a very huge impact on our capacity.

ps: 18 materia slot + materia V = 18x12 = 216pt
18 materia slot + materia VI = 18x40 = 720pt
