4.0 Positive Warrior Changes- Take a Read

I have been prowling the forums and I am seeking alot of warrior hate.
I may be in the Silent Minority, but I like the job MORE than 3.0 warrior he is why

• Beast Gauge Promotes more engaged combat- You have to pay more attention, be more engaged to be effective. The skill ceiling for warrior has risen. I like the challenge
• More Fell Cleave!- You can now fit 4 fell cleave in a single berserk window and 6 with inner release! (yes 4 is possible)
• Bererk More often and no bacify. Yes i know it was nerfed , but you have more options offensively and no loss of dps for 5 sec ( excluding mercy stroke or heavy swing)
• Warrior Feels more like a Main Tank and not just an off tank. We have more mitigation options and overall we feel more beefier. We are more capable atfilling our role.
• No more stacks(3.0) falling off. How many times have you a had 3 or 4 stacks and the boss transitioned or the timing was a little off between pulls.

Rebuttals to Common complaints:
Onslaught is useless: The skill is a great situational gap closer, can general more hate on pull tomahawk+onslaught, and serves as a nice potency boost when it feels into rotation. Should be used after berserk+inner release is over.

Stance Dance: Remove Cost or give it flat cost of 20.
You should always change stance when your guage is below 40.
Don't be afraid to blow your guage for skills in tank stance. upheaval does more damage in Defiance.

Shake it off useless- Once again a good Situation skill that will be more useful for later content ( just a hunch)

Final Thoughts:
I enjoy the job more than I did in 3.0
The core of Warrior combat while similar has changed alot.
Be commited to change and Learn how to use your beast gauge in different circumstances and situations.
Master your JOB! There is still much to learn with these changes.
Warrior is still a force to be reckoned with!

Paladin may have slighter higher DPS parsing because it is easier to play and people are using it more effectively on average in comparison to DRK or WAR (just a theory)

That's the problem precisely.
War hasn't the best dps anymore + he has less raid utility compare to paladin. He only has slashing debuff, but if you have a ninja or a samurai well... DK + PLD win.

You can edit your first post to bypass the limit.

Honestly WAR is that not that bad. Not sure what the issue is but I have more fun with WAR now then I did in HW. Both MT and OT. MT I feel tanky as heck since I have all the control of IB and not sure how people are getting higher upheaval in deliverance but my damage in defiance is insane with upheaval. Onslaught I spam it as an MT, more damage more emity. I only use IB for damage minagation and with eye being and overall damage buff you can use your butcher block more. Path is used in case you spent more meter then you should. Its easier and better. Berserk took a damage nerf but can spam more and no draw back or begging healers to cleanse you. Shake it off probably the worst ubless you faith grinding or something. Besides that I'm doing great damage and surviving waaaay better with this meter no longer and no longer dropping stacks.

It is true, the skill ceiling has risen. But the payoff for playing to your fullest is still behind what PLD and DRK can achieve,
even with less work. The balance between the 3 tanks is disrupted, and that is the main issue many people have here.
I have been a strong advocate for tank balance since 3.x, and I want to see any tank combination viable and working well.
Like this, Square tried too hard to move the pendulum back in the middle that they jerked it too far towards the other end
of the spectrum.

I am terribly sorry, but I do not see the appeal of this. Fell cleave was great because you tried to maximise its usage, and
because you could not do it as often. As of now, WAR gameplay is just "instant DPS - just add water" kind of gameplay. I
am all for engaging, fun, and challenging gameplay, but "press this button 6 times in a row to DPS" is not what I would consider
any of that really. Sure, you might argue that the buildup is the fun, and the FC's are the reward, but I really prefered it like it
was beforehand, where both were the fun AND the reward.

This one I agree with you, really. The new zerg might not be as powerful, but its available more often and it lines up better with
your other cooldowns. While that does make offensive CD usage a bit more static, I do not mind, as that system rewards you for
keeping track of your buffs.

And yet, there is DRK, who can mitigate almost every tankcruncher with 1 skill (TBN), or PLD who has just about the same mitigation
options as MT or OT. I agree that maintanking with WAR feels a ton better now, but again, in comparison with the other 2 tanks, the
class is still a bit behind overall.

You know, I have mixed feelings about this. You talk about the fact that you like the more challenging aspects of 4.0 warrior - wouldnt
you consider it a challenge knowing when the boss jumps and how to use your ressources so you do not waste any stacks in a fight?
I, personally, would prefer the gauge to be gradually decreasing when not in active combat (5 per tick or so), if we had a chance to create
gauge in between pulls.

Nothing that sprinting + a skill wouldnt be able to do as well without wasting precious gauge that is better spent on upheaval. Compared to
Upheaval and Plunge, this skill is too situational to be considered useful for me.

Herein lies the problem - if we have to spend gauge points before switching stances, we need time to regenerate our gauge for our skills.
Fluid on the fly swapping as it was a core gameplay mechanic in 3.x is not possible anymore, as you are gimping yourself by doing so. You
are losing time and DPS as an offtank, or you are actively endangering your own survivability when maintanking. The system is too punishing
for a class that has 8 skills locked behind that gauge, as compared to the other tanks, who do not have the same issue. Again, this is also a
balancing thing, and should be considered.

Yeah, on shake it off, right now its useless, but we do not know what kind of amazing ideas the dev team has in store for us in the future.

Copying what I wrote in a different topic:
No one is saying that you cant learn to enjoy the current WAR, or that you are unable to contribute in a good way to your team. The issue is
that many gameplay changes negatively affected the previous core gameplay of WAR, and the fact that WARs objective performance is,
compared to the other two tanks, more lackluster. Speaking as someone who played WAR with a passion since 2.4, its incredibly sad that
almost everything I loved about my class is now pretty much gone.

Especially when you say you found more challenge in 4.0 War... 5 keybinds to use, allmost no off-gcd anymore, and you find it challenging : so funny ! :D

Not sure where the challenge lies. Storm path buff stays on for 30 seconds....all you need to do is remain above 50 on beast meter....so within those sec pretty much spam butchers block with upheaval and onslaugh. Yes I use Onslaught ever chance I get as a MT it builds threat and more damage if I really care about meter health storm path if not butchers block or storm eye. This is not rocket science..
