I didn't think about it until recently. Yes, the server auto-kick feature has been working to great effect. Yes, some people are not so happy about it while some are more than welcoming of the change.
But a side victim to this are all the bots that would gather the same gathering nodes or make a Black mage cult and farm gold on multiple accounts. They pretty much also get the boot making botting less efficient and practical I would imagine.
Does anyone know if this auto-kick thing is going to be temporary? The lack of bots has been pretty nice and it will be sad to see them come back.

I'd assume a lot of these bots are auto designed to log back in as soon as the servers come back up, so I can't see this really fixing them all together.

Bots are constantly active to prevent auto disconnection (a button press one every 30min is enough). They are also setup to log straight back on after any disconnection. The measure does not affect bots whatsoever.

OP is referring to the once daily complete disconnect recently implemented to combat afk'ers interacting with bells (etc) and then walking away for hours at a time. As far as I understand, at the appointed hour, everybody gets kicked regardless. But I agree they will just log back in after the 19 minute delay.

The server kick everyone has been adjusted to congested worlds only now. Only worlds that do this in NA is Gilgamesh and Balmung now. All other worlds are not kicked anymore.

If they really wanted to combat bots, they could add the further measure of a temp ban on anyone trying to log back in before the ten minute wait is over, or at least anyone trying repeatedly.
