Regarding 20+GB Version Update Occurring When PlayStation®4 Is Not Shut Down Properly

Currently we are receiving numerous calls regarding an issue occurring on the PlayStation®4 in which, if the FINAL FANTASY XIV application is started up after the PlayStation®4 did not shut down properly (such as after a power outage), a version update of over 20GB in size occurs.

We have contacted and informed Sony Interactive Entertainment of the situation, and they are currently investigating and addressing the issue.

We will keep you updated on any new information.

Regarding the issue where if the FINAL FANTASY XIV application is started up after the PlayStation®4 did not shut down properly (such as after a power outage), a version update of over 20GB in size occurs, Sony Interactive Entertainment has released a PlayStation®4 system update on Jul. 11, 2017.

We ask that PlayStation®4 users update their PlayStation®4 system software to the latest version.
